Having Surgery Monday :(

Woke up about 330am this morning with this horrible pain right at the bottom of my rib cage in the middle, and a little under my Right breast/bottom of the rib cage. Not my entire stomach just there. It was a horrible pressure with waves of pain. Not really nauseous or anything just horrible would have rather been giving birth again pain. I thought maybe it was from dinner because I had went out with a friend, but it wasn't like heartburn or gas or anything it was higher. Hubby had to come home a take me to the hospital. It was a Gall Bladder attack! I have never had anything wrong with my gall bladder before. Doc did an ultrasound and said it has to come out right away. They got me on pain killers to hold me off till Monday if possible. I will be in the hospital for 2 days, and he said I could go back to exercising in about 10 when the stitches come out. He also said that alot of the gall bladders he takes out are from people who have lost weight! He said that the fluid and fatty tissue around the gall bladder decrease when you lose weight and if it is "bad" you will know it then because your body realizes it. Weird. He said that by me eating so much healthier was good, but when I did eat something fat-like the steak and potato skins- for dinner my gall bladder could not handle the fat. So I will go under the knife Monday and be back on here wed or Thursday. And he said to continue on losing the weight this is just a side effect sometimes.
Anyone else had theirs taken out?
Tonya

hang in there and you might want to buy some good enzymes - you'll need extra help digesting fat from now on without that hardworking little thing inside of you.

Hi Tonya, take it easy and get better, you can use the time to read up on stuff...I know a friend who had their gall baldder removed, and his wife is very strict about the amount of fat he eats...so whether that is something that has to be controlled after the removal of the gall bladder I can't say, but I believe that is the reason that she does make sure that he restricts his fat intake.
