Do breakups affect your phisique?

My question is: are women prone to lose/gain extra weight during bad breakups? what do you think? do you have any experience?

ABSOLUTELY!!!
I think whether or not it's a loss or a gain has to do with that individual's tendency and the dynamics around the break up. My ex lost tons of weight when she was busy straying and making herself sexy for the other person (no resentment there at all !) which preceded the breakup between the two of us.

I typically lose weight because I lose my appetite if I'm upset and I gain weight when I'm in a happy relationship because I eat whatever the other person is eating and they invariably eat more than I normally do.

Yes, breakups affect pretty much everything. People tend to be emotional eaters, although it is suggested that you can pre-program the body not to do that by making sure you turn to exercise/relaxation etc when you feel stressed, which then means that you are more likely to exercise/meditate when you get stressed. But short term stress, from what I've read, tends to make people not want to eat, and as it turns in to long term stress then people tend to overeat...so, it seems humans start at one end of the scope and then get to the other end during long term stressful situations. Stress also means that your body will hang on to bodyfat...my mother lost weight when she visited even though she had spent years eating little and trying to lose weight, but she was in a more relaxed environment whilst here on holiday, and ate more, but still managed to lose weight. So, stress in general affects us, men included, and in a similar way.

I just got out of a three year relationship and it has definately put a toll on my weight. I went from being a lovely 110 to 125, i'm 5'8 so it's not that bad but I feel absolutely horrible about it. So I can say it has definately affected my physique.

I surpassed two break ups before this current relationship I have. I think I am one of the lucky ones, who get even prettier after a break up. Though I am not aware of that!! hahaha..maybe my subconscious tells me I must not look like a loser and they should regret losing me..haha..

I tend to lose weight after I break up with someone. The sadness completely eradicates any desire to actually eat.. I don't consider it a good thing, though, because ultimately it slows down my metabolism, I become underweight, and lose energy. =/ Break ups are the suck either way!
