Embarrassing problem when I run

Ok, so this is a little personal but I really need to ask. When I run on the road or track I leak. I know my bladder got a little messed up when I gave birth like it happens to most women. I leak a little when I sneeze too. I think most women have something simliar to this, what steps do you take to help the issue? I am not really looking to wear something like a pad or anything but I am thinking I might have to. I know it comes from the jarring of the road because when I'm on the treadmill I don't have this problem. I guess I am just looking for some suggestions on how to keep from leaking, or will I just have to resign myself to having to wear a pad. I go to the bathroom right before I go out and I do Kegal's but doesn't seem to really help.

I found the following which may help, one you know of but the other you may not, the last 2 are concerning Kegal, but they may have more info than you've been given:

Bladder Control Strengthening

pelvic floor muscle rehabilation

Having not had kids I don't suffer that problem, however as a kid I was forced to hold my bladder for 3 hours etc (by my parents), while at bursting point, so I can sympathise...and I now have anxiety related problems due to it. The top one looks interesting though, butt squeezing, and a good explanation.

kegels can and should probably be done during any core strengthening exercise and any time really. It's possible though that you might not actually be accessing the right muscles when you think you are kegel-ing. There are PTs who specialize in these areas who can coach you through how to use special devices to activate your awareness and neurological access to those muscles etc....

hang in there. It can get better - especially at your age - you're still plenty young!
