Smile Athletic Gracefullness

Dance and it benefits for ones health would be a good topic for discussion. The incorporations of grace, strength, focus, and coordination are just some of the benefits one may receive at any level of study.Combining the strength and endurance of an athlete and the grace of a swan. All ages can participate.

I never danced when I was in my youth. Although, we had a thread the other day talking about salsa dancing -- how sexy it could be and how much weight one could lose.

What kind of dancing are you talking about?

All types of dance, any style that one is comfortable with and increases the cordial vascular system and burns calories.I like to combine ballet, modern, and jazz when exercising.I also like to improvise moves to flow with the music, keeps things fun and interesting.I think dance is like swimming, you receive a total body workout . It is just a lot of fun and is fulfilling!

I feel that it's not necessary to move like a ballerina to gain the benefits from dancing. That's why I like modern dance,it has a free form concept where you freely move to the music as it stirs you.If you like music and you like to move to music , I think that's all the gracefulness you need,so go ahead Slysara put on some music and move to the groove!

Modern dance would be the right kind for me, I can do whatever I feel like and move however I deem necessary

What is jazz dance?

Jazz dance evolved from tap dancers dancing to jazz music. Todays modern jazz dance incorporates many different styles and music. The dance includes a combination of creative rhythmic, big and exaggerated body movements that convey the mood/attitude of the music usually jazz. Much of the dance in Broadway shows would be consider jazz dance.

Salsa seems exciting, I see a local class signing up right now. $55/month to learn

Does that seem about right?
