Cold!

Can anyone explain this? Is it something to do with my metabolism?
Whilst I'm working out I'm boiling hot, when I get home I'm hot but then about 15 mins after I get so freezing cold I have goose bumps, but then about half an hour to 45 mins later I'll get back to normal. I live in Melbourne, it's 27 today I shouldn't have goose bumps!
Does this happen to everyone? is something wrong with me???
I also get very tired when I'm cold, I take a multivitamin and fish oil and antihistamines would they affect this? would it have anything to do with blood sugar? I go to the gym before breakfast so I eat when I get home (and am still warm) so I have food in me when I get cold. I'm confused.

Happens to me too. I always need a hot shower after my workouts. It's just a metabolism thing. make sure to have a protein shake right after and just cover up - even if it is warm outside.

After you've worked out, the core temperature is still trying to get back to normal which is why we continue to sweat for sometime after working out; even after showering...then when we stop sweating, because we've cooled enough, the skin then feels on the cooler side. It's normally recommended, to elite atheletes, that they wrap up after working out/a sprint etc even though the body is trying to cool off, because the difference oin temp can cause colds as well; so after the shower, it might be a good idea to have some thinner layers of clothing that you can put on as you cool off; it might help.

Low blood sugar would cause you to feel shaky, so it's unlikely the cold is anything to do with blood sugar. Carbohydrates warm the body up, if that's any help, so I've read concerning freediving anyway, they produce heat, which is good to know if you intend going out in extremely cold weather.

Where cold cuses you to feel tired, that might be a good idea to get checked out, in case it is a thyroid problem that is underlying it, or iron deficiency (due to exercise etc); as I believe both of those can be the cause of feeling cold and tired. I normally feel exhilerated after a workout even after the body has cooled off.

Get your thyroid tested, go to the doc and check your TSH levels.

Yep that happens to me too. My family always think I've done more in the gym than I have cos 10min running makes me bright red in the face and sweating.
Then later on I can get really cold, this happens even if I've just done weights and not got that hot and bothered.

I take it as my body telling me that it wants to spend energy on recovery and building muscle and not on keeping warm so I wrap up and have a warm drink.

When it comes to weight training as long as you cool down and get something to eat first , having a nap is quite a good thing to do.
