Question Eating Too Much After Exercise

Hey guys, let's say you go to the gym first thing in the am. 5am, crack of dawn. You put in a 25 min cardio workout and then strength training for the next 20 minutes. What do you eat after?

I seem to be in kind of a food rut. After I worked out every day this week, I wanted to eat everything in sight. Just this morning, I had a protein shake, 2 eggs, a banana, some wheat toast with peanut butter and a slice of bacon. I KNOW I didn't work so hard as to need all of that but I was SO hungry.

I do weight watchers and even taking into consideration the Activity Points, I'm eating most of my daily intake by lunchtime. Am I underestimating how much work I'm really doing or do I just need to control myself more?

This is just getting to be frustrating and it doesn't help that I'm premenstrual, I'll tell you that!

It is possible to go through a stage where you just eat and eat, but listening to the body in these instances is generally best. If you've lost weight at the end of the week or not gained any then your intake has been perfect; premenstrual is always a problem time, but what you're eating is not specifically high carbs which is generally what PMS tends to urge us to eat, so it could just be that you are really hiungry and need more food for fuelling your workouts...just keep an eye on the waistline, and you'll be fine; so eat if you need the extra, and cut back if you start getting a bigger waistline and higher numbers on the scale, but if it's a smaller waistline and higher numbers on the scale then it's muscle gain which is good (and which needs extra calories ).

Hey there.. I also in WW so maybe this could help you. Make sure you eat or drink high protein foods or drink before and after exercise. I drink soy protein drink before exercise and drink enough water so my body wont shaky. The trick is I don't drink the whole drink, I save half of it and drink it after exercise. I found this method works well for me. And also you have to make sure that your drinks or bars not higher than 5 points. Or.. if you want to be save you can always have an apple in between exercise...

I guess listening to your body is always the best advice - and if you body desperately calls for food (which I guess is the case from what you wrote) than there will be a reason for it. If you are still having the effects you intend to have with eating so much that I guess it'll be fine.
For me high protein soy drinks work too and I usually drink some of it before and the rest of it after the training similar to ToneUp18.
