Question general random Q's

so i'm working on a workout plan
i have manditory PT for the most part 5 days a wk
we work on specific muscle groups or cardio

but i'm trying to make one for myself thats more specified for me

i have people giving me work out plans
i think when i workout on my own i'm going to do an overall workout not a set muscle group so i dont wear myself down

but i'm also trying to get workouts written down and organized and
i was wondering how i should organize it

example
-back/triceps
-biceps chest
-hamstrings/glute
so on and so forth

So if I've understood your question right.... you don't want to do what your personal trainer is teaching because you want something more personal...??

Sorry but I'm a little confused. Could you explain what you want a little more?

i apologize let me say it a bit more clearer

i'm in the army i'm deployed right now
we work out about 5 days a week

sun- run 3 miles
mon- lower body
tue- rest but i go play soccer
wedn- rest
thur- soccer/abs
fri- exercise bike 9 miles
sat-upper body

its not a strict schedule but for the most part this is what we do

i'm trying to work out more on my own right now i work out with 2 guys on a crew i work and we work out about 30-45 minutes

if we dont pass weight here we can pass our tape or BMI (they tape females neck waist and hips)

i want to pass weight last time we weighed in i was at 159 dont remember my measurements but i was 5 % under

since i started doing weights i've gained 2 or 3 pounds i dont know if its what i eat cus i could eat better or weights if its weights i'll be ok
but i want to start working out on my own
i've had some work out plans given to me by other people
some focusing on certain muscle groups at a time others an overall body work out

i want to try and shed some pounds and inches more so inches then anything
i dont know to much on having a set plan but i just wanted to get some opinions on it.

that last part just ignore that i figured that out

sorry to confuse you i tend to do that

the measurements they do are to determine body fat percentage and so you shouldn't worry about losing inches as your proportions will show that your body fat is still within limits if you're working out the way you say you are. I'm sure that will be fine. I'm more concerned about you saying that you want to work out more and that those workouts will be full body each time - even if you have a rest in between those - you'll still have your mandatory workouts and you could end up overtraining.

It might be interesting to see what exactly "upper body" and "lower body" workouts consist of to better advise you on how to split it up. I think you should probably listen to the folks who are advising you to rotate body part workouts rather than going with what you want to do. It sounds like you might tend to setting high goals. Pace yourself.

Ah I see, that is much clearer. I'd agree strongly with what Stikfigure said.
