Information Needed

I am currently trying out for womens football. The first try out was this past sunday and I did rather well. I had one problem at the last 20 minutes of tryouts. My legs felt like jello and I could not stand for a minute. I was wondering if this could be from dehydration or I am not in the greates shape yet. Any ideas or suggestion. I did notice at this time my mouth was very dry too.

The jello legs would be from the intensity of the workout, lactic acid build up etc, but always wise to make sure you get fluids during tryouts. An isotonic drink, or some fruit juice is always handy to have with you in case blood sugar plummets, which can also cause shakiness.

just to add to what 5k has said, dehydration can be a big problem, before tryouts and games you need to be fully hydrated beforehand. drinking 1-2 litres of water around 2 hours beforehand or the night before if it is an early game. keep fluids up at any oportunity you have. during half time especially if it is hot wrapping a cold towel (or a damp towel that has been frozen) around your body will help conserve energy for the second half as your body won't need to use energy to cool itself.
