does running makes me skinnier?

I am 31. I weigh 50kg. With a height of 172cm i am categorized as underweight. People say cardio exercizing will make you lose weight. So, i looked for other alternatives in exercizing. I just involved myself in running. I have been doing it for months now. It feels good so far but com to think of it, does running makes me even skinnier and lose more weight? which i don't intend to. I want to reshape my calves and thighs so it won't look that skinny. Please advice.. Thanks!

The biggest aspect of weight loss and weight gain is your diet, if you are loosing weight with your current activity level you need to increase your calorie intake including making sure you are getting enough protein. To build muscle and reshape your legs it would be a good idea to add some weight training to your routine.

So doing running and weight training with a protein supplement is way to go?

definitely add weights to your program but you don't need a suppliment for your protein, it is possible to get enough protein from a normal healthy diet even for those of us that need a LOT of protein. Skin free chicken, fish, eggs, beans and nuts are all good sources of protein

for the average person you need 1 gram of protein per kg of bodyweight
