Meds seemed to have kicked in fully again, so I'm looking to Monday to start apnea training sessions again...but may give cardio and weights until Wednesday to be on the safe side. Going to start putting all learned info into effect tomorrow onwards

Will be off the forum for a while, due to studies from tomorrow morning until the end of May.

Sorry to hear you're still having equilibrium problems. disconcerting to say the least!

I wonder if it might be helpful to try this little weird thing that can help in some situations:

You might need help from your hubby. sit on the edge of your bed. turn your head to the side and have him push you by the shoulders without warning and very suddenly (if possible) and make you fall back onto the bed while your head is turned.

try it again with your head turned to the other side (once you've recovered from the first try)

sometimes that can help re-set the vestibular system in the ear (if that's playing a role in this problem of yours)

it can't harm anything, might be worth a try....since you have such a long time to wait for your visit to the specialist....

Brief update

Thanks for the info Stikfigure, but they don't believe it is BPPV and if it were I'd try the ...manouver (can't remember the exact name).

An appointment finally came through, even though I was informed that they were fully booked until July. So, I have a hospital appointment this Sunday with the specialist...I guess the NHS specialists are now working Sundays too, that came as very unusual...emergencies I could understand. Whether I will get a diagnosis is another matter, since it may take more than one appointment and probably a number of tests over a duration. Anyway, wish me luck

Relaxing today, although I did get a haircut earlier. I found out my results for the blog that I had to do, I passed with 85% for the photographic and analysis side of the module and got 84% overall for that particular module, so very pleased with that

Hospital appointment went okay, although my upper back is killing me, 'cos I injured it a few days back, I'm hoping it settles soon.

ENT has ruled out BPPV, which the doc never suspected anyway, but he is undecided between two inner ear diseases, so a CTscan and an audiogram have to be done, so yet another 8 week wait...and 4 months before I see him again...on a good not though, my eardrums are okay, so that means I can go freediving as soon as I've finished my dissertation

Got more meds to take, will soon start to rattle when shook

Talking I'm baaaaaack

Thanks Lazylifter, very chuffed with the result for the blog. Even more chuffed that I managed to hang in until the end, under the circumstances, and finished the dissertation which ended up at almost 15,000 words with footnotes included. Now all that remains is for me to hand it in tomorrow

I'm hoping to get to training tomorrow evening, Tuesday at the latest since I'm having a celebratory meal tomorrow evening. And maybe a couple of vodkas

So, I finished the dissertation before deciding to take the second lot of meds prescribed...which I started Tuesday...boy am I thankful I was wise enough not to begin the new meds as soon as I got them...my body is all hyper and I've not slept for 4 days, at least not any decent sleep...I was up this morning watching tv at 3am 'cos I was just so restless...when I was so shattered that I felt sick, I went back to bed at 6am...and managed to get a few more winks of sleep; to add insult to injury, the film was called "The city never sleeps" or some such name...I hope the meds don't take long to dissipate from the system...I want to go to sleeeeeeep, so that I have the energy to exercise safely.

Hopefully some day soon, this thread will turn back into a training log; but inury and illness are all part of what affects training, so it makes sense to log it here.
