Managed to do a bit of dynamic apnea this evening, was going to measure heart rate but the monitor needs new batteries all of a sudden
Dynamic apnea:
2 x 8 Route B
2 x 4 Route C
14 x 6 Route C
2 x 8 Route C
Total distance on 20 breaths: 2140ft (652m)
This was a gentle apnea session so there was no pushing for greater distances, and in fact one of the walks was cut short because I couldn't believe the monitor needed new batteries

Weight training went really well today; I can feel that all-over body warmth and just a little hint of that after-muscle usage as opposed to soreness. Took around about 1 hour.
Back to my normal routine that I was using about 7 years ago, which is really 3 completely separate weight routines throughout the week. Each routine targets every muscle group with one exercise only, today for example biceps were targeted with hammer curls (even though to some they are only a secondary biceps user), Tuesday they get hit with bicep curls; and Thursday with preacher/concentration curls. Each body part gets hit with 3 different exercises weekly, with triceps that allows specifically targeting each head of the triceps throughout the 3 workouts.
It may seem odd that I do 3 exercises per bodypart per week, as opposed to doing a higher amount of exercises/sets for the larger muscle groups...but for me, it's all about higher weight load, so therefore none of the muscle groups need more exercises/sets per week than any other...whereas, triceps will have a lesser load to lift than the quads. This system has always worked really well for me, which is the main reason I'm sticking with it.

Training is still going well, have also incorporated pistol squats, 1/2 squats at present but I'll get there...in an attempt to get more of a blast on the quads. Since I did that kamikaze routine the other month, nothing I'm currently doing seems to affect them any longer....but I don't fancy not being able to walk for 10 days again, so I'm trying a different tack on it.
Addition to training:
Have been considering a design of an item that will permit me to use the non-adjustable weights as adjustables. Tonight I decided on the final design, which sounds strong enough on paper, now all that remains is to make 2 of them. Probably best to test the prototype for its strength first, before I go onto making the 2nd one...but if I come limping back with a broken foot, you'll know I got it wrong
Unfortunately they won't be ready until after Christmas, but I need to get started on them now, so that they are ready for when I need them.

Break today, will start again tomorrow. I'm currently waiting for a book to arrive, a Christmas pressie, and am hoping it will be good and have some techniques in that I can apply to my sessions to keep them continually alive.
Have started doing 1-arm push-up training, although not at the horizontal level yet, more closer to vertical, but it's fun

Long time no post!
Have been doing intermittent training and not really sticking to a routine the past few days, but have been doing a fair deal of push-ups and stuff...not exactly sure how many I've done, but my arms/shoulders ached on Wednesday after I'd done sets of push-ups on Tuesday
New book has arrived, and I've been doing a bit of reading. Looks like it will take me a while to digest all of it, since it's not a slim book, so most of my routine will remain as it is for now and as I come across stuff that I can replace, I'll do that. Will try and keep this log up-to-date a bit more too.

Yesterday I got a barbell along with some more weight plates so I'm now able to lift some heavier weights than before. Hubby also got me an EZ-bar.

I think some men probably don't see weights as a gift, although if it's what we really want, it makes perfect sense 'cos we'd be overjoyed Xmas morning

Gave my new barbell a tryout with deadlifts, just to see where I stand...well, I got to 52kgs no problem, only problem is I need more plates
Hope to be ordering another 20kgs of plates in the next week or so, which should keep me busy for quite a while...but the deadlift did highlight that the other weight training, with very minimal weights, paid off somewhere along the line.

Not exactly an addition to training.
The barbell I purchased was supposed to take around 60kg of extra weight, but since the staff member that sold it to me didn't seem to have a clue to its correct weight, which they got wrong...I double-checked with the shop owner who phoned the manufacturer to get the specifications...and I found out it can hold up to 110kg max load...extremely happy about that fact since I can't see me getting to that weight anyway; it also allows some more leeway for extra plates and heavier deadlifts in the future if I want to try for a near-Max (safety reasons, I'm gonna be conservative in attempts at the heavier loads)...It also means I won't have to replace the bar for that reason, at least.
110kg Max seemed a bit heavy compared to 60kg, so I looked at similar barbell specs on the internet and they all appear to be around 135kg weight load maxes, so 110kg doesn't seem so far out after all.
