I have been competing in the lifting for 3 years now but began training for it 5 years ago when i was training to improve my lifting for rugby lineouts.
I have always been into sport starting with Judo from the age of 5 which included some weight training when i was about 16 and had my eye on olympic selection, it never worked out because i tore all of the ligaments in my right knee in training prior to the state titles that year. I also spent time training with weights when i was 18 in preperation for a bike ride from Sydney to Surfers Paradise when i realy should have been studying lol.
When I moved to Canberra for study i got sucked into playing Broomball and was also part of a local cricket team and again i had a gym membership for the weights but still not lifting seriously. Things went down hill fitness wise when I met hubby and i had kids. I have 3 sons and 2 are Autistic and a lot of work. It wasn't till we moved to Queensland that my fitness got back on track by joining the local rugby team.
Basically my lifting is my small amount of time for myself away from the work of careing for my kids.
