Default Hi from McKinney, TX

Hello,
I just signed up for this forum. I am not new to exercise. I have been going to the gym off and on for the past 10 years. I have been going steadily since last May, and I have lost about 20 pounds. I would like to lose 30 to 40 more. My goal is to become a personal trainer, focusing on the "older" generation (40+).

Welcome! I would like to become an instructor, so my goals are a little different than yours, but we have some in common. It sounds like you are on the right track. Just make sure you are eating as much natural food as you can. Stay away from man made products as much as possible. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.

Great job so far. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to share what you know with others. I just completed my Personal Trainer Certification. Now, it's just a matter of getting out there and finding clients! I'm a bit nervous.

Where's McKinney? I'm from the Austin area, Georgetown to be exact. Nice to meet you.

McKinney is about 30 miles north of Dallas. Thank you everybody for your responses. I'm looking forward to getting input and information about health and fitness.

Hi, I've just joined to and frankly am looking for a quick fix and then to change habits long term. I'm 54yr old women who's gained 30+ lbs in the last two years. I'm truly looking for a pill that will work along with my pilates, walking, and changing my eating habits. I just don't want to believe that there's no hope in middle age! Ideas welcome, admonishments I give myself daily, so no help needed there!

Hi cjl5040 - i'm 52 almost 53, and have started working out with a personal trainer - lifting weights - have been doing this now for almost a month, and am loving the feeling of strength. I've been a big fan of Pilates doing it for about 7 years, but decided to put it on the back burner and get weights into my exercise routine. I do know that Pilates has made the strong core that my trainer's in awe of, but just am squishy soft, and want more definition and tone - am told Weight Training is just the pill to take. I'd love to hear more from other women and their introduction and success with weight training.
