Default Hi from Florida

Hi everyone. I am looking forward to making some friends with common goals. I am 35 yrs old. My husband and I have been married 18 years. We have 3 teenage daughters and are foster parents hoping to adopt a son. I have yo yo dieted on and off since having my first daughter and gain backed it all and then some each time. About 5 years ago I joined a gym and worked out 5 - 6 days a week and lost a lot of weight and was happy with myself. It took a while but I felt great. My best friend/workout partner became pregnant and she stopped going to the gym with me. As she gained pregnancy weight I slowly started putting back on everything I lost. My eating habits didn't change at that time but I stopped working out. Instead of going back to the gym I gave up. I think I have basically killed my metabolism with all of my starvation diets eating 500- 700 calories a day. I know that the only way I can get back in shape is by getting myself back in the gym. I am joining Snap Fitness today. Since it is a 24 hour a day gym I will not have any excuse to not go. I am going at it alone this time with out a workout partner. My best friend moved away and I thought it would be nice to join a forum for friendship, tips, advice and motivation. It is always nice to have someone else that has similar interests and goals. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. Jenn

Hi Jenna, Welcome to the forum! Read the reply I wrote to 815dlc1. I hope this site helps you stay motivated. I don't have a gym partner either, but sometimes it easier to workout by myself. Determination and willing to make a lifestyle change is your first step and you sound like you have it. Hang in there and don't expect overnight results. It takes time to get HEALTHY results.
