hello hello

HI everybody,

im missbroon from sunny glasgow in scotland. have to say i absolutley love this site and im soooo glad i stumbled across it!

i weigh 10 and half stone(146 pound i think!) but im six foot and half an inch tall so i know it sounds heavy but im really not, im very trim lol

i go to the gym three times a week. ive never been trained before so ive kinda made up my own routine. tend to do 30 mins running on the tredmill followed by about twenty five mins toning(sit ups, squats, lunges, free weights etc etc!) and i also swim once a week, 1000 metres at the local pool.

this site is absoutely great for improving my technique and making sure im doing things correctly, and of course giving me new and better ideas for my workout!

my diet is pretty good. i love cooking so always cook from scratch - no ready made meals for me! and i love fruit and what not. i was a bit alerted to read that healthy people dont eat pasta or bread!! i dont eat much bread but im planning to cut down my pasta intake also.

anyway,i think ive said enough

oh my goals are to get a six pack!! ive got good definition at the top abs, just not the lower, but i know now ive to work the lower abs first in my workout!! also goal is to get more em well less lol of a bum lol

luv the site X X X

Welcome Missbroon

Sunny in Glasgow as well, it's been pretty warm up here all day as well, maybe that elusive summer has arrived now? Oh, no, that means grass cutting season's here as well...hayfever...

Hiya Missboon,

Welcome to the forum! Glad to see another six footer joining the site
Look forward to chatting with you. You might want to start a progress journal, I find it really useful for taking a good look at my routine and my goals.

hiya guys,

thanks for the responses.

ive found new motivation for my fitness since discovering this site! feeling really focussed on getting a great body, and im enjoying my new enthusiasm.

the area i really want to target first is my lower abs, my upper abs are nicely defined but lower has no definition if im honest lol

so my plan is to cut down on pasta, and generally cut down a little of my food intake, and get cracking with the reverse crunches lol

i find reverse crunches fairly easy as i did do them in my old routine - just not at the start of my ab workout! so now i shall do them at the beginning. is three sets of say 15 reps adequate? should i put a weight on my chest?

would really appreciate a reply, its just great to be re assured that what your doing is correct!

take care all

There is a great article about targetting lower abs in this months Muscle and fitness magazine. I've read it with interest, not for me, I think my abs are a lost cause but I'm gonna put together a routine for my BF.

It surgests hanging leg raises as well as crunches and its surgesting two sets to failiure

Thats just maded me think can anyone find a smiley doing sit ups or with a six pack that would be cool.
