This time it's for real!

Hi All,

7 weeks ago I decided that enough was enough and I wasn't going to be a couch potato when I got to 30 (I'm 28 now).

Since then I've lost 15lb (217-202lb - I'm 6'1 so my BMI is now somewhere around 26) through a combination on eating around 1500 calories daily and approx 60 minutes cardio work at the gym 4 or 5 times a week.

All this is great but I'm starting to lose my motivation and I think I need to put a kick back into my workout. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm currently doing 30 minutes on the cross trainer (at various intensity levels but the easiest fat burning setting) and 30 minutes on the treadmill alternating 90 seconds running, 120 seconds walking. I also try to do at least one full set of weights a week and legs bums and tums class.

Thanks in advance for your help, this looks like a great community.

Hiya!
Nice to see another mancunian joining the forum.
It sounds like your comming from the same place that I was at last summer.

My advice would be ditch the x-trainer all together and do weights in that time instead and then do your running afterwards.

Look forward to chatting with you.

stay motivated

Hi,

I've been trying the tae bo videos off of youtube and they are great. You should try it and see if you like it.

I've got a Tae Bo dvd. Its great I really like the 20min workout (for when I'm feeling lazy)
But I get a sore neck if I over work my front (you know pecks and abs etc) and my one critisism would be it works those muscle groups too much without enough balancing back muscles.
