This is great!

I just got done reading the Lose Weight Now articles -- and I'm so excited!
I found this site when I was searching for some new glute and ab workout and nutrition information -- I'm so impressed. (Thanks RWF).

I'm on a fitness journey that began 2 years ago (when I started studying diet/nutrition in earnest, and working out.) I've been struggling with follow-through all this time -- but I'm ready to do it now! I do weight training 3 days a week right now (sometimes more) and have started walking-running in the mornings (a couple of times a week). I plan to run/sprint 6 mornings a week and weight train/interval train 3 times a week. That's the plan. Like I said, I have "issues" with follow-through, so this is a work in progress.

My goal is to go from my current weight (191) to 151 lbs by April 1st. I figure that, at 2 lbs per week, I should easily be able to reach that goal. My biggest "body issues" are my abs, my triceps, and I want to tighten/define my butt.

Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome to the forum

2lb a week is a good goal but in reality you will have weeks when you stall for no aparent reason, keep this in mind when aiming for your goal. Your plan looks good but starting a journal will help keep you on track and help with follow through.

Hi Trusylver,

Thanks for that reminder. I'm here to be held accountable!

About a month ago, I started keeping a log of all my workouts and I journal everything that goes into my mouth. I aim for 1200 calories per day, but no more than 1550 (got that calculation from another site).

I know that our bodies work like well-oiled machines when they're healthy and that everyone's is different in terms of optimum nutrition, types of workouts that are most productive, etc. There's so much information out there and some of it's so conflicting that I get confused sometimes! I'm basically putting together a plan that combines the best of everything I find, and "tweaking" it here and there as I see that something else would work better.

I'm also finishing school and starting a business AND I'm 57 years old. I take my schedule (have to learn better time management!) and my endurance into account, and I try to not push too hard -- but I definitely challenge myself! (or else how will I ever succeed?) I want to run a marathon in 2010, even if I come in last!

You're right about the 2 lbs per week. It's a goal, but I know that there will be weeks -- like the holidays coming up -- when I'll slip. I guess the main thing is to persevere.

Thanks again. Nice to meet you!
