Question Veins

Hi All,

I'm new here and I'm wondering have any of you ever come across this.

From doing weights to tone my leg area I have come across very visable veins.I have mainly done cardio and only started a few months ago with weights. They came about very rapidly.

I believe its caused from too much pressure to the leg but isn't that the whole idea of weights to build muscle? Is this a comon?

Any help or advice?

welcome to RWF

Weight lifting should not cause vein problems, what exactly do you mean by them being more visible? Knotted? Varicose style veins?

Standing or sitting for long periods of time can also cause this problem and so raising the feet above the level of the head allows the venous return and relaxes the veins which is something they do not usually get in ordinary day to day life; you could try doing that for 30 minutes a day.

Cheers for the reply.

Yes varicose vein type. They came up in the space of a couple of weeks when I started.
I will try the exercises and if they don't work ill have to put up and shut up!!
Many thanks
