Hi from OR!

hello! I'm from Oregon..
I'm 23, and used to be a competitive swimmer for HS and college. I stopped swimming about 3 years ago and now am focusing on my body as it is right now. I am trying to build muscle and am very interested in fitness modeling. I love exercising and weight training. I really would like to strive to be the best I can be.

My goal is to get serious about running. I just started on the treadmill. Running is very hard for me, so I have to take it really slow.
In August I joined a gym and am thrilled about it and have been pushing myself to commit going at least every other day. I try and do a little cardio, but I mostly focus on weight training, where the meat and tone are coming from.

I really need some support and encouragement and guidance in how to achieve my goals. I'm excited to be a part of this forum.

Welcome Ultraviolet !
I feel running is hard too. My exercise are mainly 12 minutes treadmill and 1 hour weight lifting and crunches. Have been doing that for 3 years. My goal now is to tone my abs and triceps.

Hey Ultraviolet!

Running is most definitely the hardest exercise, but it's also the most natural thing us as humans should be able to do. The further you can run, the better it feels.

Thank you for such a nice warm welcome!
Yes, I never understood why my mom and dad can build up mileage running, so quickly, and its hard for me to even do one mile without really hurting, especially the very next day.
I know i need to make a serious commitment to running frequently, and this is why i have probably struggled. I WANT to run. I want it to be a part of me and my life. I love that euphoric feeling you get each run...
I also do just a 5-10 min warmup on a cardio machine or treadmill and then hit the weights... I love weight training so much more than cardio.
