Reps vs weight

I am not sure if I should change my weight lifting portion of the workout yet. Most of you know that I do not desire to be a toned female, but a female with mass. I like muscles! I know I'm a weird girl. I have really pulled out the stops the last month and want to continue to make progress. Here is my question:
Right now I am doing high reps with moderate weight to the burn fat and build strength, but at what point can I change over to do higher weight and fewer reps to build mass? Should I wait until I get the fat off and get to my goal weight? General concensus from the people around me that I trust think I should continue with high reps and only moderatly increase weight. Keep building strength slowly and wait a little to start really building more mass. I know I will not be huge like a guy without the extra illegal push, but I want to work towards a look that is more than the average female slightly toned body- if that makes sense.
What do you girls do? Do you left alot of weight, or are keeping the reps high?

I don't see why you couldn't start now using low reps with high weight but just making sure you get enough aerobic stuff throughout the week....the more muscle you build the more fat burning you can do - right?

I agree with Stikfigure, go for the higher weights, and make sure the cardio is in place. I prefer higher weights, mainly because too much repetition can cause joint problems...although I can only go as high as my weights allow...but there are ways around making them harder at the same weight at present, for me, since mine is a home workout.

I like your signature of the belt with a shoe for the clasp, and to keep track of change

Yeah, Tonya, I like the muscles too! I've been doing heavy weights for a while, and it is definately giving me good results. Even though I'm still over 30%BF I've got great muscles on my legs and arms. The only ones I can't see are my abs, and I'm working on those.
