Whats your Gym Like?

I was wondering what sort of gyms you guys go to?
Does anybody have a home gym or both?

I have a few weights at home, just a basic set of adjustable Dumbells and Barbell.
Ive just joined a Gym for the first time in years.
Its in a high school nearby so I can only use it evenings and weekends.
It has a bench and free weights but no barbell
Lots of machines, pretty much anything I could think of except for an assisted chin up machine.
Its quite a small place but they have fitted a lot in (except for the barbell)

I joined one of the big chain gyms for the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna and try to just grin and bear the obnoxious plumage in the weight room.

Yeah I wish mine had a pool!
cos its in a all girls school I like the fact that there's very few strutting peacocks if you know what I mean.

I don't think of them as strutting peacocks, more like eye candy.

I do both. I have a home gym with a bike, a couple benches, dumbbells and barbell and rebounder and pole. But sometimes I like a change and I go to thre public gym at the YMCA which has a pool and a lot of machines. I still prefer my free weights as opposed to machines, but I do like them for the extra weight they allow me to lift. Makes me feel all powerful.

I'm a sweat in the comforts of my home kinda gal! I have a home gym which consists of an airdyne exercise bike, a nordicktrack treadmill, kickboxing bag, rower machine, ab machine, set of 15-25# dumbells, hula hoop, mini trampoline, rollerblading mat for indoor gliding. When weather permits also ride my bike, rollerblade, walk outdoors for exercise too! Yeah I am a diehard exerciser, I love it, love it, love it, and I always mix it up so I NEVER get bored!

I train at a matial arts gym with free weights and basic machines, no pool etc. but very friendly without the bodybuilder types, just normal people with a couple of strength athletes thrown into the mix.

My gym is a 24 Hour Fitness. Well equipped and crowded because it is reasonably priced. Lots of young people. I like it o.k. I suspect that is where I picked up this bug I have though--so many people breathing heavy. I wouldn't say the upkeep is immaculate...

I do dvd workouts at home also. Have weights and a step.

both here

i go to the y... we have a pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, waterslide, climbing wall, basketball court, as well as machines and barbells and classes of various sorts.

at home, i have weights, balance ball, yoga mat, and 2 big, active dogs who HAVE to be walked or drive me nuts....

in the summer, we buy a pool pass for the community pool, which is really really nice. 3 slides, and a lazy river!!!!! the pool is the best thing about living here....

That's a nice Y you have over there! Sounds like you're covered on all bases.

I have a home gym, which has done me proud over the last 7 years, got to where I am now:

Sticky yoga mat (for any slippery positions needed)
Exercise ball (stability ball: used in place of a bench)
Weights (dumbbells only: 5kg, 3kg, 4kg, and an adjustable set that can go up to 20kg)
Aerobic step (Reebok)
Skipping rope (used infrequently)

extras:
stopwatch (much needed)
nose-clip (for those all-important apnea sessions)
large clock, with second hand (used when doing Tabata, 'cos I can view it directly across room)
