Default No Self Discipline Hate Bat Wings

I must first tell all of you, my self-discipline skills are zero. I also am the worst procrastinator EVER. For the above reasons (that and being just lazy) summer is here again, and I still don't have those Madonna arms. Well . . . maybe I don't want that that much definition but close. I don't have definition; I have dimples. That ain't attractive. As I cannot afford a personal Trainer and there isn't one nearby even if I could, I come here for help, so somebody please HELP.
I've been told the arms are the easiest to tone, but of course, I want that toning RIGHT NOW, which I know is not possible, but what I am asking from this toned community of friends is this: I need a routine to follow. I mean step by step, exercise by exercise, DETAILS on reps and anything else you can tell me. I am serious about this arm thing. I am getting to the point I don't even wanna wear sleeveless tops, and that is BAD! I have some definition on backs of my arms, but front are just dimples. ANY HELP OUT THERE? Thanks, Sheila the dimpled newbie from OK

You have to get some drive girl! you know what you want so you have to be willing to work and get it! Hang in there, you might not see results in the first day but within a week you should see some thing then its just cake from there. If you keep it on your mind you can do it!

my suggestion is to start a fitness journal. there's lots of exercises you can find online and you can choose which ones you want to do, and do them. it's motivating to see what you have done on paper (at least for me it is). there's free online fitness journals too. i found a good one it's istats.com.au they even start you out with some sample exercises in your journal, if you don't want to do them, you can delete and choose your own exercises.

I KNOW girlfrend but for some reason have not made this happen for myself, and I hate me for doing it. I know is very important , when using weights, to use them correctly or you get no results where you want em. The journal might help; I don't know. I still need somekind of plan to go by. Husdband just said do em till they really burn, well crap that did not help me much. I have some 5 pounders and some 8 pounders. Those 5 feel like they couldn't possibly do much, as they are so light, but those 8 pounders felt like 50 by the time I had done 10 reps of bicep curls. ha! When I first get home from work I know I should get out of those work clothes and into my little capri sweats and probably do my 30-min (30 enuf?) routine, but when I come in from this place, i just wanna lay down to rest for a bit, and then you know the rest. I know if I could hang on long enuf to see the littlest result (like a dimple that is no longer staring at me) it would give me that incentive, but alas. I also have one of those zone pilates. Has anyone seen those or have one? I know it would help too, because I DID feel sore muscles after using the first few times . . . . I just need a better routine that lasts . . . 30 min. enough?
bout 3 yrs ago, i got heavier then i'd ever been in my life, a whopping 166 lbs, so I went to weight watchers and got back down to my fighting weight of 138 lbs in 5 months. Over those 3 yrs. gradually it has started back; Im at 155, so I went back to weight watchers last Wednesday, before I see 166 again. Dieting along with this exercise I must do will hurry up and help
the process too I hope.

Thanks for replying and what about you other toned bods in here? More replies please! She

i found this bikini body workout on Shape.com and it has a whole workout plan, it even has a video demonstration. i can't post the link, but i can tell you how to get there.. shape.com / workouts / bikini_body/

what's a zone pilates?

keep your head up! i know it's hard staying motivated. even if you do a little bit of something everyday, that's good. you could even do things while you're at work or even cooking. you could do a set of calf raises or tighten up your abs or butt while at your desk or in your car. as long as you get moving and make a conscious effort to do a lil something extra, it all helps.

Hi there- this is my first post. I'm very familiar with your frustration! I found a site that has beginner and advanced exercises, and I believe there is a short video of how to do them (arm stuff). I have had plenty of training from college fitness classes to personal trainers (when I could afford it) and I'll share what has worked for me in the past. I'm beginning all of this again, as I started teaching last year and have NO time for anything!

Here is the site: sparkpeople.com/myspark/ex/all_exercises.asp

Another thing is not to work the same muscles twice in a workout--it wastes time if you have little time, like me. There are so many arm exercises that you can have different workouts throughout the week to avoid getting bored. I was never so hardcore as to enjoy chin-ups or anything like that! As for getting started, this is what I usually do (I'm so scattered that I have to make myself a list to get started on anything!)

1. make a list of every exercise I can think of or find online to work arms
2. sort them into categories according to what part of the arm they work out.
3. pick one of each so that I can make 2 or 3 different workout plans for the week
4. decide how much weight (if the exercise requires weights) I will need to use
5. decide how many reps (I usually try to do at least 12, and repeat at least 3 times)
6. Keep the list handy to look at so that I will be motivated to get started when it's time

Deciding on how much weight is a problem sometimes, but I believe the above site helps with that as well.
Wow! after posting all of this, I think I will get started on the bat wings myself! Please let me know if this was any help at all

The internet has everything you need. It's really frustating, but if you manage to have a positive mind and good self-discipline you can have you want by then.

If you really want to see results then you will need to be diciplined. The arms are a womans hate!

I have been working on my Pt clients arms as she also hates wearing short sleeved t-shirts and her arms have now become more toned and people have made many comments she has also lost an inch of arm size so far.

We started off doing 3 sets of 15 on each exercise. I like to do tri-sets. 3 different exercise on each muscle. To keep it varied and different.

We done exercises such as tricep dips off the bench, tricep extensions, tricep kickbacks, tricep press ups. 3kg is a good weight t start off with.

Just remember if you work one muscle always work the opposite ie the biceps just to keep the muscles balanced.

Pad work is also good for arms.

Most of my clients use sports supplements this helps them with recovery, getting the right nutrition and helps with weight loss and tone.

We all love solosupplements.com

Supplements are not just for bodybuilders. I have been using supplements for 2 years now. I am 5.10 just over 9 stone size 8. I do not have muscle bulk just muscle tone.
