elliptical or stationary bike?

i'm wanting to really tone my butt and thighs, so which form of cardio is better: bike or elliptical?
on the elliptical i can get my heart rate up alot more, so i must be burning more fat and calories, but on the bike i can really feel the burn in my legs.

my opinion is bike. I think the spin cycle bikes are best for butt strengtheninig. if and when you do ellyptical if you do it backwards it'll work your butt more.

Why not both?

Hi there. Why not do a combination of both? You never want to stick to the same cardio routine for too long anyway. You could vary exercise by the day or even do 1/2 your cardio time on one, and 1/2 on the other.
Does your gym have the Stair Master with the actual, revovling stairs? Now THAT is a killer leg workout!

Hey I actually do both...you have to keep tricking your body or it will get use to doing the same thing everyday. Also you can try the treadmill at inclined intervals walking or jogging...it works your glutes and legs!

yeah, my gym does have the stairs, and i just started doing them for 20 minutes on the fat burning program, then the bike for 10 on the hill program. and im going to switch it up every week, to 20 on the bike then 10 on the stairmaster.
