A Newbie In Search Of Some Advice!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums but really need some advice on weight training.

I have gone from 190lbs to 158 since the end of April and am really pleased with my progress, seeing I was 190lbs on my 21st Birthday was a horrible shock and gave me the kick up the backside I needed to shift the weight! Weight training has been an integral part of my workout regime, I was previously doing 45mins of carido followed by approx 30mins of free weights, I've recently upped my cardio to 1h10mins as I'm trying to avoid pleauting

My question is, I'm currently using 6kg weights (started off with 3 and have worked my way up!) however I'm finding lifting these increasingly easier, I'm just scared to keeping upping the weight I'm lifting as I don't want to end up being incredibly muscular. My body finds it easy to gain muscle and there is a marked difference in both my arms and legs since i have started my workout program.

Pls dont laugh at me as I'm sure there are people there thinking what on earth is this girl talking about 7kg is nothing!

Thanks for any advice! x

Hey there
What kinda of exercises are you doing with the free weights?
If you don't want to plateau, its probably not the cardio that will stop you from doing it. Not just that anyway. You will need to change your diet and weight training routines as well.
I lost 25kg (56lb ish) in the last 4 months without any cardio. Granted, it is baby weight and breastfeeding helps, but still! All I've used are kettlebells, mainly 12kg, sometimes 24kg. I too gain muscle easily but with kettlebells I've never 'bulked' up as such, just lost a lot of flab and toned up nicely.
