Bodyweight Exercises

When you can't get to a gym or you don't have weights at home what bodyweight exercises do you do ?

My List

Pushups (normal, diamond, Tricep and hindu) just started doing single arm
Crunches
Squats
Wall sits
Pistol squats
Broomstick twists
chin ups

I like tricep dips, plank, side plank, tolasana (scales pose, done between 2 chairs), and plough.

Yay for bodyweight exercises, too much underrated by most people, good idea for a thread!
  • Push-ups (handstand, on knuckles/fingertips/finger and thumb, wall, sink, raised feet, wide/narrow arms, slow 20-secs reps, holding breath, 1 foot on floor, one arm further forward than the other...etc).
  • Dip (chest, triceps).
  • Lunges.
  • Squats (wall, free-standing)
  • Crunches (V-sits, gymnast rocking abs)
  • Calf raises
  • Plank (side, normal)
  • Other yoga stuff like: balancing on hands, feet out parallel to floor; crow pose (??); boat pose...[can't remember all the various yogic names and can't be bothered to look them up ]

Definitely underrated by most!! I've recently started focusing on BW exercises and I'm up to 5 unassisted chin-ups and 25 "real" push-ups! There is no better feeling than completing 3 - 5 sets of them and being wiped! I feel like the BW exercises are just what my routine was missing! I also do BW rows, jackknives, 1-legged squats, hip pop-ups, and planks. I've been focusing on these moves for about 7 weeks now and my core feels so much leaner & stronger!
