What does everyone else think of women in sports like this...Any thoughts/opinions?

The only sport I find hard to accept where women fight is boxing, I'm not entirely certain why, unless it's just all the broken noses and constant pumelling at the face that makes me feel women shouldn't do that sport
As for other sports such as kickboxing, I'm all for women getting in to the groove, so to speak, and knuckling down to it and even entering competitions etc as opposed to just doing it for health and defence etc. Some people when they consider that a martial art is good for health often overlook the fact that originally it was meant for the purpose of war. Tae kwon Do was specifically used by the people of the area in which it originated in order to be able to fight people that were on horseback, hence all the emphasis on high kicks.
In my past I have done Judo and Tae Kwon Do, and have looked at Aikido and others, but eventually decided to do yoga (I know a bit different to martial arts), mostly after I heard a person say that they wondered what it would be like to break someone's bones, so that's what turned me off immediately. However, I have to say that I always admired the skill and artistry off the styles and never considered the dangerous practical aspects, unlike this other individual. So, any sport I persue, weight lifting and freediving practice at present, is done along the same lines; and I think if a person can maintain focus on the point of technique/mastery, then all sports are perfect and should be followed to whatever level a person desires to persue the sport...so I say, Go for it girl
