Default Unmotivated workout buddies..

I was diagnosed with Lupus over 5 years ago, I lack energy and strength, no day for me is ever the same for me, I constantly have ups and downs. I yearn to be physically fit but working out has always been a challenge for me.

My best friend who is also suffering from minor health issues, is overweight and a new mom, decided to join a gym. I thought this was the perfect time for both of us to get healthy!

Jan and Feb we did pretty good at the gym, I started to see results and excersising fit in perfectly with my life. Unfortunately I slowly noticed that my buddy was moping around and even talking on her cell phone...she wasnt taking it serious....it is now March 12 and we havent gone to the gym in weeks...

I've tried everything to keep us both motivated, we've set goals, we've made schedules and we even purchased outfits to push us even further...
I dont know what to do, its hard to keep myself motivated, but I love and care for my best friend and her health...any ideas????

I know that it is hard to get yourself motivated. It was hard for me as well. I was in your shoes with my best friend and she was all for it the first couple of months. Then she would suggest that we do something else in the time that we had set to work out. It got to the point that she would avoid my calls during the day. What I'm trying to tell you is, you have to really be at that point with yourself that this is what you want nobody else. Meet new friends at the gym if you feel the need. Set small goals for yourself weekly or daily. Once your friend makes it up in her mind that, that's what she wants, she will come alone. Still motivate her, but don't let her neg. energy affect you. She'll see results from you and it will help her.
