Smile Hello! Introduction

Hi everyone! Here's my story...I have been a regular, avid exerciser since I was 14 (I'm 32 now). Because of this reason I believe I have never been overweight. My entire family (parents, sisters, grandparents) are very overweight. Both of my younger sisters are extremely overweight as is my grandmother. I think this may be why I have to work harder than most to maintain an average weight, which is frustrating...but what can you do?

Now...I have never and will never be a twig. I have a lot of muscle tone and am just not built to be skinny (no matter how hard I try). I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 141 pounds. My goal is to get down to 130, the weight I was before I had my first daughter 7 years ago. I have been working out HARD since January...exercising 45 minutes to an hour 3 times a week. For the past 3 weeks I have changed to running for 30 minutes three times a week and added toning classes. I also recently got rid of coffee creamer and have cut way back on anything that includes corn syrup. Guess what? The scale has not budged! As I pull out my summer clothes I am frustrated because of the way I look. My daugther (innocently) laughed at my stomach rolls yesterday as we were sitting out by the pool. Not.Very.Funny.

Anyway-I think I need to change some diet things here. I haven't paid too much attention to that because I exercise so much, so this must be the missing link. My stomach definitely needs help as do my hips and thighs. I'm hoping that the running will help! I'm looking forward to the support in this forum!

Hello!
It sure seems that you are exercising, but what kind of things are you eating? If you are eating 3 pretty good meals a day, you may be burning just enough to maintain. So, you may have to really shrink the size of meals. Funny thing, we always read how we now have to eat more to lose weight. If that were true, gastric bypass would not work! So, don't starve yourself, but you may have to really cut the calories...
