Unhappy just can't get motivated

hi,
im 21 and im a chubby UK size 12.

i've hated the way i look since i was a child and this has only got worse, especially since i moved in with my boyfriend 3 years ago. i can't name a part of me i'm happy with and it's making me totally miserable.

despite this, i struggle to find the effort to lose weight. i am in my 2nd year of uni and work (from home) the rest of the time so i don't have much time. i generally eat healthily, though this suffers when i am with my boyfriend. to solve this, i have just been eating cereal for breakfast and lunch so i can eat a balanced meal with my boyfriend and his family in the evening, and rarely snacking but im still not seeing any changes.

we try to walk the dog for 2 or so miles daily, though we are pretty lazy and sometimes make pathetic excuses for not going.

i went swimming yesterday and i love it. problem is, i need my boyfriend to drive me there (its about 10 miles away) and it costs a lot of money for a poor student.

im so stuck! sorry for the long post, please help me!

Yeah Juliet its disheartening when you come to know despite all the efforts that you put in the problem just does not recede. Even I have gone through this and have given up efforts to redeem my earlier health now. Though I am not a person who has a lot of medical knowledge I think the mental state might have something to do with this. I remain disturb due to several household issues so it can be the effort I put in for my weight loss is not wholehearted.
Anyways I was also looking for some help its better to be optimistic than carrying a depressive look.

Hi, welcome to the site. Although I do not frequent this site as much as I would like, I try to motivate when and where I can. Both of you need a little of that it seems.

This site is a GREAT start. You have both admitted there is a problem and WANT to fix it. Search the site as there are GREAT workouts here. It is really easy to put something together and if you don't want to do it yourself, we're here to help. Look through the articles and see what you find that is easy to do AT HOME! There are plenty of both strength and cardio workouts here that are easy to do at home. If you don't have dumbbells or strength bands, get 'em, if you can't afford them use household items like soup cans, milk or water jugs, laundry detergent jugs or even towels or a scarf. Do what you can! Don't over do it and make sure you stretch. I would suggest 2 or 3 days alternating of each strength and cardio workouts. Take a day off to rest your muscles!

Other than that, GET OFF THE COUCH! Turn the TV off and get outside if you can! Have a great day ladies and I hope this helps.

Hi, I just found this website, and started reading some of the posts, and saw yours. I work out 5 days out of the week kickboxing and sparring, as well as weight resistance, and I still weigh 140lbs because of my diet. I'm a healthy person, but ice cream, cookies, and sweets follow my good meals every day. I hope you can find it in you to have a better diet than mine and I'm sure the weight will go down. You might want to also try light jogging during your walks with the dogs, that would help a lot.
Good luck.

i'm pretty sure plenty of women share your same feelings. YOu have to learn to love yourself inside and out no matter what. YOu can lose weight, gain weight, put on muscle...etc and still hate yourself. You gotta work on the inside as well as the outside.
