Question Please Help Me!

Hi,

I'm 11 years old, 150 centimetres and 45 kilograms. I'm very chubby and I have a really thick layer of fat covering my belly and I TOTALLY hate it!!

I have a pretty reasonable diet, but I'm Indian, so I eat a lot of rice, but it's Basmati rice so it's healthy. I eat fruits and vegetables and don't snack much.

I just want to know WHAT to do to lose the extra weight! I want to lose about 6- 10 kilograms, and preferably before August the 23rd, I have a dance performance coming up.

Do you think I'll be able to do it? Please help me achieve my goal!!!

Sharmini

Hey!
The best way to acheive that goal is to try to do aerobic exercises and also try to drink lots of ice water and green tea. Do exercises that are concentrated on you abdomen to help tone you.

11 year old and overweight

Hi
u say that ur indian and eat lots of veg, fruit, just wondering are u also vegetarian? cos if u are, u could be deficient in protein. to work out how much protein ur should be eating - ur weight in kilos eg. 45x0.8=36 grams.
i've recently found this out and in 4 weeks i've lost 3 kilos, i think its because protein is much more satisfying so u don't get too hungry, keep on eating the fruit and veg though and drink lots of water, 3 small meals a day a small snack twice a day maybe make a shake with yog, flaxseeds and fruit. And don;t forget to take a bit of exercise, even if its just going for walks for something u can do in ur bedroom

good luck
janice

I hope you mean skipping rope, not skipping meals. LOL Get a skipping rope and in the privacy of your own bedroom (or in the backyard, if comfortable) and skip for about 20 minutes every night before bed. Being so young, I wouldn't recommend any serious weight training, but doing resistance exercises with your own bodyweight.

Pushups, crunches, reverse crunches, unweighted squats and lunges will do wonders for your muscle tone. Building good muscle will help your body burn more fat for fuel. Just make sure you do the exercises with correct form. It not about how many crunches you can do, but the quality of them.
