Goals for 2008

With New Years right around the corner I have some pretty big resolutions I want to fit. I want to lose quite a bit of weight, but I don't want to set the number too high and be disappointed.

What's a modest weight loss for each month? What could I expect to lose say from now until June 08?

You should definitely have achievable goals. The last thing you want to do is not reach them and then you start being depressed, which leads to binge eating. Make goals that are ambitious, but you know you can mathametically reach them.

Haven't really thought about it yet....probably just keep going the way I'm going now...trying to get fit enough to run a half marathon (21km) without passing out!!

for 2008 i just need to loose 10 lbs.
I weigh 133lbs at 5'4" and im now 22.
Id like to get to 122 or even 125. but its important to go by measurments because muscle weighs more than fat.

Ill let you all know how i do

I think for 2008 I will focus on toning my abs, triceps and legs. I'm going to buy dumbells so that I can workout at home when I can't go to the gym.

That would be a good question for your Doctor. My goals are to loose about 5 to 10 lbs. leaving me a flat tummy. They say you should be able to pinch an inch,I'm pinching about an inch and a half or so.

Whatever the goal, it must be measureable. If you say, " I want to loose weight", it would be impossible to know when that is achieved. A more appropriate goal would be "I want to loose 8 pounds in 4 weeks." Also, set short AND long term goals. If your long term goal is to loose 25 pounds, have a short term goal of 5 pounds. This way, when you achieve your short term goal, it will motivate you to go all the way....there is nothing more motivating than success.
