Question QUESTION...breast size and weight loss...

Hi,
I am trying to figure out something. When loosing weight, is it not so much your breast size that you lose but rather the "back fat" and "chub" around the breast? I am an overweight woman, (235lbs) and i was wondering if perhaps that theory is correct. my mother told me i wouldnt actually loose my cup size but rather inches on the bra strap, is this true? Can anyone help me out on this one?

Lightbulb Mixed results, depends on the woman

Hey there! I have wondered about this too and what I've discovered is that it really all depends on the woman and what she is doing to lose the weight.
While I am fairly large breasted, when I diet and walk my cup size does not change much at all but I am losing back fat so the straps on my bra fit looser. I have a friend who was average-stacked and all she has done is diet. She lost her cup size very quickly but not much anywhere else.
I asked most of my female friends and acquaintances and the results were the same.
So it really all depends on you. Do chest exercises to help maintain support and definition for your breasts, work the back and shoulders carefully but thoroughly along with some belly busters. Good Luck!

I just experienced this myself. I was 228 pounds and lost about 53 pounds so far. I was a VERY full D or DD with a 44 back size. I am sorry to say I have lost a lot of my cup size. I tried on a 38 C this week and my breast sort of sat in the cup. I am on weight watchers so the weight loss was healthy. I also exercise every day with an eliplical, and every other with free weights. I am not trying to tone up all of the skin that has been left behind

I went from a C cup to an A cup through exercise and was really delighted , of course I need to get back there since college has taken its toll, but thankfully not too badly. I believe the breast fatty tissue is what is lost when the weight goes down, this can be offset by weight training which builds the pectoral muscle up. The lower pectoral region builds up with little effort but, for a woman, there is little point in building the lower pectoral region, unless it happens to be a really weak area for anyone and therefore its best to avoid decline presses (Sculpting her body perfect p. 43). Inclines and ordinary bench presses are best for the pectoral region where women are concerned.

I am a very large breasted woman, always have been. I was a C cup in 6th grade! I was a 44EE when I started losing weight and now I am 42E, so I kinda lost a cup size but most of it is back fat and that little roll you get get under your arm pit. I use a firming cream that has vitamin E in it to help keep the firm skin. I didn't want my breasts to start getting that saggy look as I lost weight. It seems to be working. I really think it depends on the woman too. There are women that after having a child lose or gain a size. When I was thin in high school I was a 42DD, and then when I had my daughter and breast fed I went to a 44HH. It was really uncomfortable.

I'm the opposite. I've never had breasts. After having three children, that all changed!! I now have one breast. LOL. I have one C cup and one A cup. That hasn't really changed since I started weightlifting, but the general appearance has improved as the rest of my body has become smaller and so now I'm more proportionate. Doing chest exercises has helped my general shape, and I haven't lost a cup size but I have gone down a size in the strap.

About a year and a half ago, I dieted severly for a competition. I needed to cut 6 pounds in 4 weeks and weighed 118 while working out heavily everyday already. (I'm 5'2"). After I lost all the weight and competed, I never put all of it back on and shortly after I went down a cup size and a bra size. I discovered that for me, the breasts is the last place I lose weight, when there is nowhere else to take it from. Fortunately for my b/f, it's also the first place I put it back on
