Yeah! Similar thing is happened to me. My best guy friend who had a big belly, walked on the treadmill for an hour on alternate days and he has almost lost his belly. I however, am dieting, walking, exercising everything, but I am yet to see any change!! What can be the reason for this? Do guys have faster metabolism or something?

It could be something as simple as genetics, not gender. Some people simply respond differently to exercise due to higher metabolisms. Men also naturally have more muscle than women which helps them to burn more calories than women do.

Take my husband for example. He does little exercise, eats like a bull and is stick thin. He's 6'4" tall and weighs a measely 65kg. He's underweight for his height, and yet he never stops eating. Unfortunately, our three children have inherited his metabolism. My grocery bill is going to grow exponentially as they get older.

Seems like yur doing the same thing over and over and your body is not responding to it any more. Time to mix it up with more cardio activities.

ALso look at what your eatting and jot it down. look to see whatit it that might be the culprit and keeping the weight on and not comingoff.

Hope this can help.

Yeah, changing the routine tends to give the body something to think about and gets it to adapt, which is what we need to be vigilant about...when the body gets used to something, get sneaky and trick it

I also read that men can exercise for 20 minutes and burn fat off, whereas us women have to exercise for 20 minutes before the fat burn begins...it's not fair!!!!! *crying my eyes out*

Although, theoretically I believe this (because obviously it's in a few documents), I'm not sure it's entirely accurate...so, this year I'm going to focus on 2 sessions of short cardio but HIIT, which are only 20 minutes duration and see what happens. Of course, the thing is, since I cycle to and from college and walk/cycle everywhere else (no car) that may influence the weight loss because all the walking/cycling are cardio which may last longer than the 20 minutes, particularly the walking anyway.
