Nintendo Wii

Anybody have one of these? I've read stories about people losing dozens of pounds by just playing video games, like boxing, bowling, tennis, etc.

They're $250 right now, a little pricey...

I have one... I absolutely LOVE IT!! There are games out there for everything, you can play table tennis, have a swordfight (not my cup of tea lol), dance, etc.

Very fun way to lose weight.

Yeah, I just saw the dance "revolution" game at the store. It looked from the box that we just put the pad down and the Wii thing can determine where we step?

If that's so, I have to consider getting one. That'd be a hoot

Check out craigslist.org for your area, girls. I already have a Wii as a said above, but I can find a Wii on craigslist for about $200. A lot cheaper than the stores, especially after you figure in taxes.

Anyone with a ps2, xbox, or wii should definitely buy Dance Dance Revolution. It's an awesome game for weight loss, plus it's addictive. I get bored just walking/jogging, so I bought this game and have been playing it for about 1/2 hour every day for about 6 months. Difficulty ranges from very, very simple to almost impossible, so there's something for everyone. It's a great workout, and some of the versions have a "workout mode" that counts how many calories you burn.

That sounds really good. How does the wireless sensors work for the Wii on a pad?

I watched a group of kids use it on New Years Eve and by the end of their games they were covered in sweat. They boxed, played ten pin bowling, baseball, golf and tennis and had a ball.

I didn't have a go but it looked like a decent work-out for the kids.

Certainly better than the ol' PS2!
