So its the weekend at its a lovely sunny day. The last thing you could be bothered with is weight loss. However, there are some very simply little things you can do to help keep the fat off whilst still relaxing and enjoying your days off.

6 Simple and Relaxing Weekend Weight Loss Ideas

Instead of bumming around all day try some of these weight loss ideas.

1. Walk the dog
Taking the dog to the park is a great way to burn some excess calories while still taking it easy and having a good time. Let them off the lead and have a run around.

2. Hike somewhere with a view
My hometown is perched right below the hills and as a result we have some amazing waterfalls and breath taking views. Hiking can take a whole day or just 30 minutes and it is a great way to get the blood flowing. I often feel quite alive and well when I am hiking up a hill.

3. Meditate
When you don’t have to worry about work or what you have to do tomorrow a bit of meditation can really go a long way. While it might not burn any calories it will help you settle emotionally and as such benefit your weight loss from the inside out.

4. Shop at the markets
I often talk about this and the reason is I really find the markets to be inspiring places. We have a great city central market where you can find produce from all over the world. The best fruit and veg and some amazing other bits and pieces. I love going down there and walking around all morning. Take your family, have a coffee and some lunch and pick up all your healthy foods for the week. You’ll save money and you’ll eat a lot better.

5. Go to the beach
Getting active is the best way to relax. Sounds crazy I know but it is true. If you spend a day at the beach you will run around, swim, sleep and do a whole array of other activities. This is a lot better than sitting on the couch all day eating junk food. Make an effort to do active relaxation.

6. Tai Chi in the park
I don’t know about everywhere else in the world but where I live there are parks all over our city and suburbs. In most of these small tai chi groups gather on weekends to do a few sessions. These are fantastic for relaxing and for helping to heal your muscles from a hard weeks work and exercise.
