Intro
Writing about this topic is probably a little bit like kicking a dead horse. It has been done many times before and people are getting sick of it.
However, I decided to write about it for one reason:
It hasnt sunk in with anyone yet!
So, take a moment to read the points of this post. It might have a substantial impact on your lifestyle.
REAL Weight Loss, Fitness, Health, etc. take TIME!
This is a point that I wish everyone took heed of (not just women). So many women are into quick results. They want a firm set of abs and toned arms and legs yesterday. Now, you may say that I am being unrealistic but I can prove otherwise.
There is an entire industry built around this impatience and short term outlook.
You cannot watch tv for five minutes without seeing an advert for a fat loss diet, gadget, support group or some home cooked meal super idea! People want it to happen easily and they want the work done for them. However, what you have to learn is that you are responsible for your own weight, your own diet and your own outcomes.
If you want results for YOUR body, YOU have to do it YOURSELF!
A toal approach to results
When any of my female friends say they want to drop a certain amount of weight before summer they ask me what they should eat or not eat. While this is good, dieting alone wont do it. And, for that matter, cardio alone wont do it. I really like to push a total approach to fat loss and fitness. Why? Because its long term and it is for real.
When you go on a diet to lose a few pounds you will find two things:
You lose the weight quickly. It comes back on even quicker. In order to make the fat loss long term we need to not worry about losing fat but instead we need to concentrate on getting healthy.
A healthy person is not fat. They are not tired all the time. They do not catch every cold that goes around. So, throughout this series of articles on women’s topics I will not be pushing quick fixes or programs. However, dont think that means that it will take forever. I will give you ideas to make it happen faster than normal but it will not be about the quick fix.
Conclusion
Get serious about your health. Start making decisions based on whether it is a healthy option, not a fat free option. The next articles will go over some real women’s cardio and weight training issues and start getting into the training and eating plans.
