At Real Women’s Fitness we are motivated to get healthy. However, something I noticed is that we don’t ever take measures to see if we are healthier than we used to be.
We should.
As we get older and more experienced with health, fitness and weight loss we need to reflect back and see whether we actually are making progress. I’ll always remember when I asked a lady at the gym about her goals. She frequented the gym everyday and always did the exact same thing. She never made any progress. After a brief chat I learned that she was trying to lose weight and really wasn’t getting anywhere.
If you don’t stop and look you might never know how long you have been doing an ineffective workout plan.
And this is what this post is about. Checking to see if you are healthier, fitter, stronger, etc. than you were a year ago. Ideally you should be making progress weekly but at the bare minimum you want to know you are making progress at all!
There are many ways to check and see if you are getting healthier. You can measure these things at two points in time and see whether you are making progress. Here are some simple ones:
This type of evaluation is vital if you really want to get somewhere with your health and fitness. It would be a good idea to pick five or six things and write them down. After a month see if you have improved on those original numbers.
Leave us a comment and tell us whether you are healthier than you used to be or come and discuss over at our forum.

| Mary said: | This is something that women need to do all the time. They should also create a regular way to check their health as well in terms of breast examinations, osteoporosis, etc. Very good point that needs to be discussed more. Mary |
