Better Weight Loss Breakfast Choices

When you are on a weight loss program your breakfast becomes more important than ever. There are a few choices that you can make which will make your weight loss a little bit easier. Check it out.

What type of foods are good for breakfast?

There are different schools of thought on this topic and as you already might know, some weight loss choices are less than healthy. In fact, some weight loss programs are downright dangerous.

So, for a long time I have taken the approach that if you decide to get healthy with your diet you will always lose weight. Then, when it comes to weight loss breakfast choices it is always best to choose healthy over low calorie.

Which foods SHOULDN’T I choose for breakfast?

There are a few foods or meals that you straight out shouldn’t have for breakfast even though they are good for weight loss. For example, a meal like eggs and bacon is pretty good for weight loss as it is high in protein and low in carbs. It is reccomended by the Atkins Diet as a breakfast choice. However, it is heavy, fatty and it will drain you of energy. This is why I don’t think it is such a great idea.

So the foods you shouldn’t have for breakfast are the ones that make you feel heavy and sluggish. The reason why this is not good for weight loss is it means you will probably splurge during the day and you won’t go to the gym afte work. You’ll be too tired.

What are some good weight loss choices?

The best food for breakfast is fruit. I have experimented with this myself for many years now.

It all started when I was in final year of high school and I found I was having trouble staying awake at the end of the school day. This meant my homework was suffering and thus my grades were slipping. To make matters worse I was also playing some pretty serious soccer four times a week as well as martial arts everyday and then weight training when I could.

I stumbled across a book that advocated the benefits of fruit and one of the points that stood out to me was that if you ate fruit for breakfast and morning tea your energy levels would stay up all day. I tried it for a couple of weeks and it worked like a charm. A long day became seemingly shorter.

The other benefit I noticed was that I lost a lot of whatever fat I had on me. I was playing a lot of sport and doing a lot of exercise but eating fruit seemed to help me lose a little bit extra that I couldn’t before.

So, tomorrow morning make a fruit salad and see if it helps you get through the day.

RT said:Yeah some people do find that they get a bit hungry so adding foods like you have suggested is a great idea. Nice and light and not too calorie heavy.
