On the weekend our weight loss programs tend to go out of the window a little bit and we start to get slack. Sometimes the weekend can even be the trigger that causes our whole weight loss program to crash to the ground. Here are some things you should avoid at all costs on the weekend.
Going out is fine but staying up late really isn’t. I know many of my readers are happening young fit women who love to party so there isn’t much I can say to convince you otherwise!
However, a late night on the town interrupts your weight loss progress for a few reasons. Firstly, it causes you to sleep in and thus miss your first meal of the day. Secondly, when you are tired you are more likely to cheat with your diet.
Next time you go out for a late night party take a look at your eating habits over the next few days and see whether they are good or bad. Let me know!
Alcohol will make you fat. It is not only a high calorie substance that contains little nutritional value, but it also slows down your metabolism for many days making it much harder to get back into the weight loss swing.
I always seem to eat take away at least three times on the weekend. It is the end of a long week and I couldn’t be bothered cooking so take away sounds great. This is a bad move for weight loss though as one cheat day often leads to many cheat days and soon enough you are fat again!
What I am trying to get at is that there are lots of obstacles to weight loss floating around there and the weekend seems to be a time when many of them pop up.
The weight loss journey is often a hard one and we need to get as many tools and resources as possible. It is good to know what is going to trip us up before we encounter it. Kind of like a banana peel - if you see it you can step around it and not slip up.
The things you do on the weekend can become habit. They can last over Sunday and follow you into Monday. This is when it becomes a problem. However, if you know you can resist your urges and you know you can keep on track then a little bit of weekend fun shouldn’t hurt. But, watch your own mind and be careful.
