Some weight loss programs have hidden dangers that all women should be aware of. Before you start a weight loss program, makes sure it agrees with everything in this post.
Many of the larger weight loss programs around the world have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on marketing and advertising. With that amount to spend on promotion you could probably sell sugar as a weight loss product!
It is for this reason that I ask all my readers to be careful before they get into a weight loss program. There are some dangers and hidden aspects that can either catch you financially or health wise.
1 - Is it extreme?
If your weight loss program advocates extreme behaviour or extreme diets like eating only meat or only fat then I would steer clear of it. Anything extreme tends to have a downside and extreme diets can leave your health in ruins. Remember, a little bit of weight loss is not worth losing your health over.
2 - Is it overpriced?
If your weight loss program is costing you more than it needs to then chuck it in. It is likely that super expensive programs are designed solely for proft making and do little for the user.
Also, beware of the long term catch. Many weight loss programs will appear cheap at the outset but you will find that you end up locked into a 1000 year contract that won’t let you go. Always read the fine print.
3 - Does it have scientific backing?
If your weight loss program has no independent scientific backing then you should think twice. Dietary needs and requirements are quite firmly established in science and it is easy for science to test whether a diet or food has basic good or bad aspects. Look out for it.
4 - Who financed/owns it?
Many weight loss programs are owned by bigger companies that have nothing to do with weight loss. I am not going to name names but do a little investigating first to see whether your weight loss program is owned, financed and managed by a reputable company name.
5 - Does it have success stories?
Now, every single weight loss program will show you some fat people who are now brilliant and gorgeous. These aren’t the type of testemonials I am talking about. If you gave me $500 I could find half a dozen people to testify to my weight loss program.
The type of testimonials I am talking about are word of mouth. Have you heard your friends, parents, siblings, etc. talking about it? If so then it could be worth checking out. If not, don’t discard it, just keep investigating.
6 - Does it fit YOUR lifestlye?
Weight loss programs should fit in with you. They shouldn’t change who you are and what you do unless you really need it. If you find yourself stressing over the rules and requirements that your weight loss program has set out then maybe it isn’t worth the hassle.
7 - Does it make you feel good?
Losing weight should feel fantastic! It should be a burden lifted off of your shoulders. If it isn’t like that and you are constantly struggling then you should re-think your strategy.
8 - Are you losing weight?
Most importantly - is the weight loss program doing its job?
Conclusion
All of these things should be addressed before you get to far into a weight loss program. If it doesn’t meet these points then it doesn’t mean that the program is all bad; just that it might not be right for you.
