When the weekend comes around we tend to let our hair down and relax. Sadly, this usually means we relax on the discipline as well and as a result our weight loss goals go out the window.
Last night (Saturday) a friend of mine was doing a show at a local club and so my friends and I went along for support. We went out afterwards and had a great time and I didn’t end up getting home until 5am. I then slept in til 11am and for breakfast (or was it lunch?) I had left-over cold pizza because it was the only thing in the fridge! Not such a good day for this health fanatic.
I’d love to know what it is you do on the weekend that puts your weight loss or health goals under a bit of pressure. Do you drink? Go out? Pig out? Let us know.

| Francesca said: | I plan for the weekends to be a little bit of a cheat day so I make up for it during the week. It doesn't cause me much of a problem and I haven't noticed any bad habits creeping in like you have mentioned before RT. I think as long as it is controlled and not too naughty it'll be fine. |
| RT said: | Cat - you sound like quite the party girl. Jamie - That sounds so tasty to me right now. Fran - I really like this style of diet where you allow for some "mistakes". Very sensible. RT |
| Francesca said: | Thanks RT. It seems to work well for me. |

| Elaine said: | My weekends are usually fine unless I have back-to-back meal dates (you know, breakfast with grandma, lunch with the inlaws, dinner with friends) -- which only happens maybe once a month. Otherwise, I have an easy time eating because I don't have to pack lunch, like I do on work days (or worry about eating out if I didn't have time to pack my lunch). I also have a lot more flexibility to work out, since I don't have to schedule it around my work day. I try to make at least one weekend day my day for a long, fun run through some new scenery. Or a long, scenic walk if I trained too much during the week. |

But when winter arrives, I can just veg out and drink a bit more and eat a bit more during those leisurely breakfasts and brunches. It's not ideal but then life's far too short to not enjoy. Shame training starts next week. Now, how quickly can I lose those extra 7kg I gained over the off season. And...where did my muscles go? Wish I could be good in the off season. |
